Delicious treats from Villa de Leyva. I swear we ate real food while we were there — but you wouldn’t know it from my photos. Clearly I have my artistic (and gastronomic) priorities in order.
- I feel so at home here, I almost want to jump in front of that espresso machine. Except that I’d rather be eating these.
- There’s nothing I’d rather see in my window early in the morning than a basket full of fresh bread.
- Phase 27 in my quest to drink a cappuccino in every single city and town in Colombia. So far, so good.
- See, they have cinnamon buns here! It’s totally civilized!
- Our breakfast the first morning in Villa de Leyva. Almond croissants are never a bad way to start a day.
- One of the most aptly named bakeries I’ve ever frequented.
- Cookies everywhere!
- A frosted brownie and a cool glass of feijoa juice: an All-American-Colombian snack if I’ve ever seen one.
- Not what I expected when I ordered alfajores, but it’s hard to be disappointed by a cookie.
- They really don’t need anything else in the way of advertising.
